Christmas lights

Anyone else think that someone seriously needs to redesign the look of Christmas lights? I was walking round my hometown of Shrewsbury today and it was ruined by the multi-coloured Christmas lights that are still lingering. They totally ruined the Tudor feel of the small town. I mean honestly they are tacky and make Christmas look cheap..Personally I think all Christmas lights should be white and thus look graceful. Or at most keep the green, gold and red colours..not all this blue and purple reindeers that seem to appear in people's gardens every year.
